The Gallows Pole
The Gallows Pole is a creative agency that's committed to illustration, design, photography, and writing. The Gallows Pole stands on the belief that business embodies success through authenticity and character.
Historically, a gallows pole is a wooden crossbeam that was used to hang criminals, rebels, outlaws, and the like. The Gallows Pole brand and business was inspired by the Led Zeppelin song "Gallows Pole", which follows the story of a man desperately trying to escape the hand of a hangman. Ultimately, he's hanged despite all his pleading efforts. Although it tells a somber story, this song provided the inspiration to reimagine the meaning of "the gallows pole" in a way that relates to modern times. While far fewer people face the fate of a hangman in today's world, there are countless people being killed by way of the modern day, metaphorical gallows pole: an unfulfilling, uninspired life - burning years in a 9-5 job that they hate, pushing their dreams and passions to the backburner while they focus on making it to next month, next week, or hell... even to the next day.
The Gallows Pole was founded on this very idea of escaping this modern day hangman. A job is a job. Nothing more, nothing less. But when you're able to align your job with passion and your lifestyle it becomes your vocation - and The Gallows Pole mission is to help others manifest their dreams into something tangible. For some people, that starts with something as small as one design. For others, it can be as big as an entire brand. Whatever your needs are, we'll work to make sure they're met with quality and creativity.
Start a business. Climb Mount Everest. Quit your job. Ski naked. However you feel you need to do it, we're here to help you escape the gallows pole.
